The science of cow hugging

The main aspect of animal hugging that has the most benefit is the release of the hormone Oxytocin which promotes relaxation, social bonding, empathy, and trust.

It is thought that this is increased when bonding through cow hugging because of their overall size, body temperature, and slower heart rate, all of which create a sense of comfort and relaxation.

Is cow hugging dangerous?

Before each cow hugging session, we will have an induction on safety and the do's and don't in relation to dealing with these large but gentle animals.

We also won't allow one-on-one cow hugging interaction unless there is mutual respect between you and the cow, and both are happy to connect.

Our cows are used to human contact, so are usually up for a good fuss and cuddle!
