How I met Optimus!

Well it all started with a chance encounter with a farmer at a petrol station! Whilst waiting for the farmer to finish with the hose we got chatting. He mentioned sheep, I asked if he had cattle and after he confirmed he did I told him of my love of cows and how I'd been all over Cow Cuddling! He had no idea such a thing existed. After ten minutes of chatting we exchanged numbers and he told me I could visit his herd any time I liked.

Four days later I met the herd and a tiny calf I named Optimus, due to his markings on his head looking like a transformer! It was love at first sight. He was sweet and friendly and our relationship blossomed over the next 9 months. I visited weekly always with a supply of biscuits for them all.

I was heartbroken when Brian told me he was selling the herd and retiring. It was at this point I messaged Cow Companions and asked if there was room for a little one. It made my day when Grahame said there was space! That was it, the wheels were in motion and Brian was good enough to sell me Optimus and bring him on his final journey to the sanctuary! I love that I get to visit him now and get to watch him grow into the gorgeous boy I knew he could be! Watching him run down the fields to me when I visit fills my heart with joy! I love that he is so friendly with the guests too! I feel so proud of him when I hear how lovely he has been with other guests!
